The Southeast University Model United Nations Club, in collaboration with the Center for Science, Technology, Policy & Diplomacy (CSTPD), successfully organized a workshop titled “From Delegate to Diplomat: Leadership, Research & Real-World Diplomacy” on 21 June 2026 at Southeast University, Dhaka.
The workshop aimed to provide students with practical insights into leadership development, policy research, diplomacy, and global engagement beyond traditional Model United Nations simulations. The event brought together aspiring diplomats, student leaders, and young changemakers interested in international affairs, governance, and public policy.The session was conducted by Shahriar Hossain Shagor, Founder & CEO of NextGen Doctors, Judge at QCWC under The Royal Commonwealth Society (UK), Director of AGR Venture, Founder of The English Squad, and Chairman of Orbit 64. As an entrepreneur, trainer, public speaker, and youth mentor, he shared his experiences in leadership, communication, innovation, and international engagement.During the workshop, participants explored key topics including leadership and personal development, research and policy analysis, communication strategies, and the realities of modern diplomacy. The discussion emphasized how students can develop practical skills, build professional networks, and prepare themselves for opportunities in national and international platforms.Drawing from his experience working with thousands of students across Bangladesh, Shahriar highlighted the importance of continuous learning, critical thinking, and effective communication in shaping future leaders. He encouraged participants to view diplomacy not only as a professional field but also as a skill set that can be applied in everyday leadership, policymaking, and community engagement.The workshop also created opportunities for networking and knowledge sharing among students interested in diplomacy, international relations, and leadership development. Participants engaged in discussions on how research, communication, and policy understanding can contribute to addressing contemporary global challenges.The event concluded with an interactive question-and-answer session, inspiring students of Southeast University to strengthen their leadership capabilities, expand their global perspectives, and continue their journey from delegates to future diplomats and changemakers.
