Sir Salimullah Medical College Research & Creativity Society Hosts Webinar on Academic Portfolio Building and Research Dissemination

The Research & Creativity Society (SSMC RCS) of Sir Salimullah Medical College, in collaboration with the Center for Science-Tech Policy & Diplomacy (CSTPD), successfully organized a webinar titled “Crafting Academic Portfolio: How to Present Your Academic Journey Professionally” on 22 June 2026. The session was conducted under The Doctor’s Draft initiative and aimed to help medical and dental students strengthen their academic and professional profiles.

The webinar was facilitated by Shahriar Hossain Shagor, Founder & CEO of NextGen Doctors, Judge at QCWC under The Royal Commonwealth Society (UK), and Chairman of Orbit 64. Through the session, he shared practical insights on how students can effectively present their academic journey and build a strong portfolio beyond examination results.The workshop focused on guiding undergraduate MBBS and BDS students in documenting and showcasing their research involvement, leadership experiences, volunteering activities, extracurricular achievements, and professional development efforts. Participants learned how a well-structured academic portfolio can support applications for scholarships, research opportunities, leadership programs, conferences, and future career advancement.The session also explored research dissemination pathways and highlighted the importance of maintaining a professional academic identity from the early stages of medical education. Students were encouraged to systematically record their achievements and experiences to create a competitive profile for both national and international opportunities.The webinar attracted enthusiastic participation from students of Sir Salimullah Medical College and other medical institutions, reflecting a growing interest in academic portfolio development and professional branding among future healthcare professionals.The program concluded with an interactive question-and-answer session, where participants engaged in discussions on portfolio building, career planning, and research engagement. The initiative reaffirmed the commitment of Sir Salimullah Medical College Research & Creativity Society and CSTPD to supporting student development through skill-building and academic enrichment programs.
