RUET Materials Club Hosts Online Session on Professional Branding and Career Development

RUET Materials Club, in collaboration with the Center for Science-Tech Policy & Diplomacy (CSTPD), successfully organized an online session titled “Beyond Your Campus: Profile, Portfolio & Professional Branding” on 25 June 2026. The event aimed to equip students with practical knowledge on building a strong professional identity beyond academic achievements.

The session was conducted by Shahriar Hossain Shagor, Founder & CEO of NextGen Doctors and Program Officer at CSTPD, a platform that brings together diplomats and ambassadors associated with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. An entrepreneur, trainer, and public speaker, he has been actively involved in national and internationally aligned initiatives focused on youth development, leadership, and professional growth. He has also been recognized by the Royal Danish Embassy for his contributions to youth engagement and leadership development.During the session, Shahriar shared practical insights on developing a competitive portfolio, strengthening personal branding, enhancing professional visibility, and preparing for national and international opportunities. He emphasized the importance of building skills and experiences that extend beyond academic performance and contribute to long-term career success.Drawing from his experience of delivering more than 40 lectures and workshops across leading universities and institutions in Bangladesh, including the University of Dhaka, Independent University Bangladesh (IUB), University of Chittagong, Shahjalal University of Science and Technology (SUST), Bangladesh Army University of Science and Technology (BAUST), and Bangladesh University of Fashion & Technology (BUFT), he provided students with actionable guidance for professional development.The session attracted enthusiastic participation from students interested in strengthening their CVs, building impactful portfolios, and understanding how to present themselves professionally in competitive academic and career environments.The program concluded with an interactive discussion, encouraging participants to take proactive steps toward personal branding, leadership development, and career readiness in an increasingly competitive global landscape.During the session, Shahriar shared practical insights on developing a competitive portfolio, strengthening personal branding, enhancing professional visibility, and preparing for national and international opportunities.
