A seminar titled “Greening the Thread: Transforming Bangladesh’s Textile Supply Chain for a Sustainable Future” was successfully hosted by the BGMEA University of Fashion & Technology Fashion Club, focusing on sustainability, innovation, and responsible practices in the textile industry.
The session featured Mr. Tanvir Kabir, Founding Advisor of the Center for Science, Technology Policy & Diplomacy (CSTPD); Counsellor (Political & Projects); and Head of Chancery at the Embassy of Bangladesh in Berlin, Germany, as a key speaker. Drawing from his diplomatic and policy experience, he shared valuable insights on integrating green technologies and sustainable practices within Bangladesh’s textile sector.He emphasized the importance of innovation, international collaboration, and responsible production in shaping the future of the global textile industry. The discussion highlighted how sustainability is becoming a critical component of global supply chains, encouraging students to adopt environmentally conscious approaches.
The seminar was further enriched by the presence of faculty members Kamrun Nahar Naznin and Md. Shamsad Hasnine, whose support contributed to the success of the event.This engagement reflects CSTPD’s commitment to promoting dialogue at the intersection of sustainability, policy, and innovation, while empowering students to contribute to a more responsible and sustainable future.
