CDEF and CSTPD Organize Workshop on Public Speaking and Confidence Building at Dhaka University

Dhaka University’s Criminology Debating and Extempore Forum (CDEF), in collaboration with the Center for Science-Tech Policy & Diplomacy (CSTPD), successfully organized a workshop titled “Overcoming Stage Fear with English Fluency, Calm Communication, & Posture” on Sunday, 3rd May 2026.

The workshop was designed to enhance students’ public speaking confidence, English fluency, communication skills, and professional body language through interactive learning and practical guidance.The keynote speaker of the session was Shahriar Hossain Shagor, Founder & CEO of NextGen Doctors, Director of AGR Venture, Founder of The English Squad, Chairman of Orbit 64, and Judge at QCWC under The Royal Commonwealth Society. He delivered insightful guidance on leadership development, overcoming stage fear, and building strong communication skills for personal and professional growth.

Tanvir Kabir, Advisor at CSTPD and Counsellor (Political) & Head of Chancery at the Embassy of Bangladesh in Berlin, Germany, joined the session virtually. He shared perspectives on global opportunities, international exposure, startup development, and scholarship pathways, encouraging students to think beyond borders.The program was conducted by Mahmud Khalid, General Secretary of CDEF, and Mst. Nijhum Parvin Sumiya, Vice President of CDEF. The collaboration and coordination efforts between CDEF and CSTPD were significantly supported by the organizing team throughout the workshop.Special appreciation and sincere gratitude were extended to Intern Nafia Afrin, International Affairs Secretary of CDEF, for her dedicated coordination, communication, and consistent efforts in ensuring the successful execution of the program.

The presence and encouragement of Md. Rezaul Karim Shohag, Chairman of the Department of Criminology, along with Lecturer Fahin Rahman Aungkita and Lecturer Fabiha Mahbub, further enriched the event and motivated participants to engage in future initiatives.The workshop concluded on a positive note with strong enthusiasm from participants and a shared commitment to organizing more skill development programs, workshops, and collaborative initiatives in the future.
