University of Dhaka CDEF Hosts Workshop on Overcoming Stage Fear and Communication Skills in Collaboration with CSTPD

On Sunday, 3rd May 2026, Dhaka University’s Criminology Debating and Extempore Forum (CDEF) successfully organized its first workshop titled “Overcoming Stage Fear with English Fluency, Calm Communication, & Posture” in collaboration with the Center for Science-Tech Policy & Diplomacy (CSTPD), a Bangladesh-based think-to-do tank organization.

The workshop brought together students and young participants for an interactive session focused on improving public speaking confidence, English fluency, body language, and effective communication skills.

The key speaker of the event was Shahriar Hossain Shagor, Founder & CEO of NextGen Doctors, Director of AGR Venture, Founder of The English Squad, Chairman of Orbit 64, and Judge at QCWC (The Royal Commonwealth Society). He shared insights on communication development, leadership mindset, and personal growth strategies, engaging participants with practical guidance.

Tanvir Kabir, Advisor at CSTPD and Counsellor (Political) & Head of Chancery at the Embassy of Bangladesh in Berlin, Germany, joined virtually and contributed perspectives on global opportunities, including startup development, international exposure, and scholarship pathways.The session was moderated and presented to a full room of enthusiastic participants by Mahmud Khalid, General Secretary of CDEF, and Mst. Nijhum Parvin Sumiya, Vice President of CDEF. The collaboration initiative between CDEF and CSTPD was introduced and coordinated by Nafia Afrin, International Affairs Secretary of CDEF, who managed delegation and communication throughout the program.

Special appreciation was extended to Md. Rezaul Karim Shohag, Chairman, Department of Criminology, along with Fahin Rahman Aungkita, Moderator of CDEF and Lecturer, and Fabiha Mahbub, Lecturer, Department of Criminology, for their support and encouragement of the initiative.The workshop concluded on a positive note, with participants expressing enthusiasm for future programs and continued collaboration between CDEF and CSTPD to further develop communication skills, leadership potential, and professional capacity among students.
