CSTPD Strengthens Global Engagement Through Visit to UN Headquarters (UNOPS)

A representative of the Center for Science, Technology Policy & Diplomacy (CSTPD), Tanvir Kabir, Founding Advisor of CSTPD and Counsellor and Head of Chancery at the Embassy of Bangladesh in Berlin, recently visited the United Nations Headquarters to enhance international cooperation in development diplomacy, science policy, and cultural engagement.

During the visit, he engaged in discussions with the United Nations Office for Project Services (UNOPS), a UN agency responsible for implementing humanitarian and development projects worldwide. UNOPS plays a vital role in infrastructure development, procurement services, and efficient project management for governments and international partners, ensuring sustainable and impactful development outcomes.At UNOPS Bangladesh, Tanvir Kabir held a strategic discussion with Shirin Sultana, Partnerships Adviser at UNOPS Bangladesh. The dialogue focused on expanding collaboration opportunities between Bangladesh and global development frameworks, with emphasis on project implementation, innovation, and capacity building.

A key aspect of the engagement was cultural diplomacy, highlighting the importance of strengthening Bangladesh’s global identity through knowledge exchange, education, and international cooperation. The discussion also emphasized the role of Bangladeshi students and young professionals in global platforms, encouraging their participation in research, policymaking, and cross-cultural initiatives.The visit reflects CSTPD’s continued commitment to bridging science, policy, and diplomacy.
