CSTPD Engages in Science Diplomacy Dialogue with Embassy of Switzerland in Bangladesh

The Center for Science, Technology Policy & Diplomacy (CSTPD) continues its global engagement efforts through high-level diplomatic interactions aimed at strengthening science diplomacy and international cooperation.Tanvir Kabir, Founding Advisor of CSTPD and Head of Chancery at the Embassy of Germany in Bangladesh recently took part in a strategic meeting with Alberto Giovanetti, Counsellor and Head of Political, Economic & Communication Affairs at the Embassy of Switzerland in Bangladesh.

The discussion focused on the growing importance of science diplomacy as a bridge between nations, enabling collaboration in innovation, research, and sustainable development. Both sides emphasized how diplomatic engagement in science and technology can contribute to addressing global challenges such as climate change, public health, and digital transformation.

A key highlight of the conversation was the role of students and young professionals in international diplomacy. The dialogue explored how academic exchange, capacity building, and cross-cultural engagement can open new opportunities for Bangladeshi youth in global platforms. The importance of cultural diplomacy was also underscored, particularly in strengthening Bangladesh’s image and participation in international cooperation frameworks.The meeting reflected a shared understanding that diplomacy today extends beyond traditional state relations, evolving into a multidimensional space where science, culture, and education play a central role.CSTPD reaffirmed its commitment to fostering such global connections, aiming to empower young minds, promote knowledge exchange, and build stronger international partnerships.
