A delegation from the Center for Science, Technology Policy & Diplomacy (CSTPD) recently visited the Goethe-Institut Bangladesh to engage in a high-level discussion on cultural diplomacy, international cooperation, and youth development.
Dr. Fabian Falter, Head of Language Department and Deputy Director of the institute, emphasized the importance of language, education, and cultural exchange in strengthening global connections. He highlighted that such initiatives play a crucial role in preparing students to actively participate in international platforms.Also present was Mohammed Abdul Hye, a distinguished Bangladeshi career diplomat from the 1986 BCS Foreign Affairs cadre. Drawing from his extensive experience—including serving as Ambassador to Thailand and Algeria, and High Commissioner to Brunei—he shared insights on the evolving nature of diplomacy, where cultural understanding and people-to-people engagement are becoming increasingly vital.
Representing CSTPD, Tanvir Kabir, Founding Advisor of CSTPD and Head of Chancery at the Embassy of Germany in Bangladesh, contributed a strategic perspective. He emphasized how cultural diplomacy, when integrated with education and global collaboration, can open meaningful opportunities for Bangladeshi students and young professionals.The discussion reinforced the importance of cultural diplomacy as a bridge between nations, aligning with CSTPD’s mission to empower youth and strengthen international partnerships.
