With over 30 years of experience in water resource planning, climate change adaptation, and integrated coastal zone management, he has contributed significantly to national projects like the Bangladesh Delta Plan 2100, National Water Management Plan, and National Adaptation Plan.
As an Expert Member of the Joint River Commission and former Member of the National River Conservation Commission, Mr. Khan has extensive expertise in transboundary water management and has represented Bangladesh in critical negotiations and assessments, including the Tipaimukh Hydro-Electric Project and Environmental Flow Assessment of the Sundarbans.
He holds a B.Sc. in Civil Engineering from BUET and an M.Sc. in Hydroinformatics from IHE Delft, Netherlands. Mr. Khan has published 30 papers on topics such as water resource management, disaster management, and climate change, and has served as a faculty member at Dhaka University, BRAC University, and BPATC. He is also a visiting faculty at several institutions, providing training on integrated water resource management and climate change.
