He specializes in solar photovoltaics, energy materials, and semiconductor physics, and has led multiple international projects in the synthesis and characterization of photovoltaic materials, resulting in over 50 peer-reviewed publications.

Dr. Sobayel is a Chartered Engineer and holds a PhD in Electrical, Electronic & Systems Engineering, along with an MBA in Energy & Operational Management. Dr. Sobayel also brings a unique background with a military career, having served as different capacities including BDR HQ and 9 Infantry Divisional HQ.

He is an active member of several professional bodies, including the Institute of Physics (IOP) and the Institution of Engineering and Technology (IET). In addition to his research, he supervises PhD and master’s students and serves as a technical consultant for energy-efficient vehicle projects in Bangladesh.

He has received various accolades, including a national award for his contribution to the National ID Card Project in Bangladesh.
